Extraction
The Vitalis RH200 - More Power. More Possibilities.
Following an extensive research process, CLC selected the Vitalis RH200 extractor machine made by Kelowna-based Vitalis Extraction Technologies. The Vitalis RH200 extractor and ancillary equipment were chosen based on several attributes that suit our business objectives:
- CO₂ extraction
- Variable pressure settings
- Ability to turn cannabis crop into winterized THC oil (suitable for high-value medical, pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics products)
- Ability to isolate terpenes (an increasingly sought-after and in-demand compound)
- Capability to additionally extract CBD from hemp
The CIS Advantage
In January 2021, CLC installed the Vitalis Cosolvent Injection System add-on which is the first of its kind in the cannabis industry. The Vitalis CIS add-on is designed to enhance the CO₂ extraction process for cannabis and hemp by using an ethanol-injection mechanism to significantly reduce runtime and operational costs as well as to improve winterization.

Winterization
The foundation of purity
The road to the cleanest distillate starts by freezing our ethanol-extraction blend to temperatures below -70°C. Charcoal-lined Infinity Table filters are used to remove as much undesirable fats and waxy solids as possible before solvent recovery takes place. Our Ecodyst system has proven itself time and time again to be the most effective and efficient way to recover all remaining ethanol from the solution.
